SkyAcres basil is coming to Save-On Foods
Updated July 5, 2026
SkyAcres and Sandher basil is launching on shelves at 13 Save-On Foods stores in BC.
For us this is a milestone worth marking. The whole idea behind SkyAcres is that fresh, premium produce can be grown close to the people who buy it, inside buildings that already exist. Seeing that produce land on a real grocery shelf, in the province where it was grown, is the clearest proof of the model we have had so far.
The basil in these stores was grown on SkyAcres equipment, harvested locally, and moved to shelf without the long haul that most out-of-season herbs take. That is the point of growing within a short drive of the store. The product reaches shoppers fresher, and the miles behind it are short.
This is a first step, not a finish line. Thirteen stores is a start, and we are keeping our claims tied to what is actually on the shelf today rather than to what we hope comes next. We will share more as the rollout grows and as more growers bring their own crops to market through the same channel.
If you run a grocery or food-service business and want locally grown produce near your stores, or if you have idle space and want to grow it, we would like to talk. You can reach the team through our contact page.
